Attention plant parents: It's time to get the greenhouse your trees, shrubs, and flowers deserve. Though this isn't exactly what comes to mind when we picture a traditional greenhouse (or a mini home, for that matter), we're loving the Colonial-style architecture and crisp white color, both of which instantly add a more elevated feel to your outdoor space. It also comes pre-cut, primed, and ready for paint.

Whether you use this prefab find as a garage, shed, or tiny house, you'll get some good use out of it because it's built to last. Not only are all of the parts dip-treated, which is a technique to preserve the wood, but it's also weather-resistant, so once this mini home goes up, it's not coming down. One word of warning: It requires a bit more work than some of the others on this list because it doesn't come with a door lock, floor, or foundation.

Hear us out: Your dog is a member of your family who, every now and then, may need to get away, just like you. So give your pooch their own little retreat. Crafted of solid pine, this weatherproof dog house will hold up under just about any weather conditions, so feel free to leave it out in the blazing sun and pouring rain. Maybe just don't leave your dog out there with it. Did we mention it also includes ventilation?

This elegant tiny house looks like something you'd see on the shores of Cape Cod or any other New England beach town. It's also quite easy to assemble, with pre-cut wood and two sets of operable windows. You can paint the siding any color your choose and the tiny house comes with an appearance package that helps you amp up the New England beach aesthetic.

Although you may have never considered a portable home to be an option for yourself or your loved one, read on to find out more about the benefits (hence the appeal) that a portable house offers its owners and occupants.

Credit to the small size of portable homes, they can literally be taken anywhere, from desert to waterfront. A portable home can be used as a resort home, guest house, or remote office. Use your portable house all year round or reserve it for vacations and family get togethers. With the flexibility that a portable house brings along, the choice of how and when you use it is truly yours.

All prefab houses that you design and order on our website are completely customizable. You can add built-in drawers, countertops, and pull-out beds wherever in your portable house you like them. You also can add windows to the rooms that you use most for natural light and making your space appear larger.

Panelized homes usually require more work after being set up than modular homes do. This is because all interior finishing work like cabinetry, stairs, and windows need to be done once the portable house has already been set up.

When you rent an apartment, you almost always need to sign a lease for a year or more. Buying real estate is even more commitment-heavy, with you potentially committing to living in a condo or house for 30 or so years.

While prefab houses are tiny, there are ways that you can expand your space if need be. This is done by constructing another prefab space and adding a wall or door between the two areas. You can then move freely between the two prefab structures that contain your belongings, furniture, and living areas.

All you need to do is conceptualize the home that you want and enter its desired features. Choose the material that you want it to be built from and what specific add-ons you require. Where to buy tiny house features is a simple question with a simpler answer, so get started now!

Perfect for the shopper who wants to totally customize their new miniature abode, this DIY house allows the builder to choose the door location and add windows wherever they please. There are four sizes to choose from and you can opt for flooring included or no flooring.

It's not technically a tiny house, but this gingerbread playhouse was just too cute not to include! Give the little ones a tiny home of their own to play in. This option comes in 3 sizes: 8'x8', 8'x10', and 8'x12'.

Yes. The Bose Portable Smart Speaker can play in synchronized multi-room groups with additional Bose Portable Smart Speaker units, or with the Bose Smart Speaker 500, the Bose Home Speaker 300, the Bose Soundbar 500, or the Bose Smart Soundbar 700. And coming soon, you can also send synchronized audio from the Bose Portable Smart Speaker to one additional Bose Bluetooth product, such as a portable speaker or pair of headphones. However, you cannot play synchronized multi-room content across the Bose Portable Smart Speaker and either Bose SoundTouch products or products from other manufacturers (including Google or Amazon).

Brad Ford has spent most of his life using tools to fix, build, or make things. Growing up he worked on a farm, where he learned to weld, repair, and paint equipment. From the farm he went to work at a classic car dealer, repairing and servicing Rolls Royces, Bentleys, and Jaguars. Today, when he's not testing tools or writing for Popular Mechanics, he's busy keeping up with the projects at his old farmhouse in eastern Pennsylvania.

Most manufacturers now include carbon monoxide (CO) detectors in their portable generators. Honda announced an initiative to bring it to their entire lineup. These simply measure the level of carbon monoxide near the engine and shut it down if levels get too high. They typically work faster than the ones you can install in your home and do a better job of preventing illness or death due to CO.

One cycle means using the product from fully charged to zero charge (or at least 80% in some cases). Therefore, if you use your portable power station several times a week, it might only last a year or two. But if you use it less frequently, it could last for much longer.

If a company says its portable power station has 200 watt-hours, it should be able power a device with a 1-watt output for about 200 hours. I go into more detail on this in the \"How we test\" section below, but consider the wattage of the device or devices you want to power and then the number of watt-hours your portable power station would need to have.

A generator, by definition is a device which actually will convert some type of energy to usable electricity in whatever circuitry you have it connected to. Examples of this would be gas generators -- commonly used as power sources for remote areas or as whole-home backups, electric generators -- not very common, but they convert some type of mechanical action to electricity and solar generators which can use solar panels to power devices or homes, often using a battery to temporarily store the electricity. These batteries are often portable power stations themselves.

As well, the 50S also captures our 'best midsize portable power station' title. The midsize portable power station category is a crowded space and there are a few nearly equal alternatives to the 50S like the Ecoflow River Max or the Oupes and BioLite models.

Another often overlooked aspect of portable power stations is the output wattage and power rating. This is different from the continuous power rating (in watts) for each unit. For example, the 767 boasts a maximum 2,400W output power rating. That means, if you wanted to connect several LED lights that were each rated at 200W power output, you could expect to be able to run twelve of those simultaneously. When LED lights are turned on, generally, they don't require any "extra" power to get going.

The Powerhouse 757 is a solid, sturdy machine (our second heaviest one at nearly 44 pounds). It's a great pick among the over-1,000Wh choices, and really only missed out on winning the large power station category due to some extra bells and whistles other units in that category have. But there are a couple of notable features Anker's put into this unit that give it the gas to dominate this category.

A dedicated UPS could have a transfer time (the amount of time it takes for its battery to take over one the grid power has failed) of anywhere from 0 milliseconds to 12ms, and most of them try to stay at 8ms or faster. Anker states a transfer time of "less than 20ms." That's great as far as portable power stations go. But as a dedicated UPS that you might want protecting a core piece of tech or important medical device, you might consider a different solution. But by all means, your TVs, laptops, fridges and other devices will be well looked after.

By camping, I don't mean "glamping." I'm not trying to power your PS5, beer fridge and jacuzzi. Since solar panels are more common now, and most every portable power station offers an option to charge with them, we don't have to be quite as concerned about overall battery capacity or our ability to get to grid power to recharge.

I like the Jackery line of portable power stations. I would still like to see wireless charging in a Jackery battery, but otherwise, the Jackery Explorer 2000 Pro checks a lot of boxes, not least of which is charge time.

We run all of our portable power station charge tests using AC power, and based on those results, this Jackery is blazing fast when it comes to charge time. Jackery claims 2160Wh for this unit, and our tests show that it can go from completely dead to 100% in 117 minutes. There are only a handful of units we've tested overall that can charge faster than that, and most of those boast half the capacity. 041b061a72
